Project Phases

Every project we work on follows a unique strategy, but in general, each project follows some variation of the below phases:

Discovery

Telescope

We focus on getting to know your organization, services, and goals during this phase. By learning who you and your users are, we can tailor our work to provide your team with the best outcome.

User Research

In this phase, we get to know your users and deeply understand their needs, motivations, and desires to guide our decision-making.

Ideation

This phase is where the design conception begins, and we go through a process of connecting insights we've gained to form a cohesive design that will help us deliver on the project's goal.

Prototyping

In this phase, we further define the visuals of the designs we've created by producing interactive mockups. This step allows us to showcase the UI elements of the design and gain signoff before progressing with testing or development.

Testing

This phase acts as quality assurance, where we validate the design through user testing to see if it does satisfy the users' needs and provides a superior user experience.

Here is where the final product comes together. By this point, users have already vetted the design, and it's simply a matter of building the final product.

Developer Handoff

For some projects, we hand off the design to your in-house development team. We provide you with detailed resources on the design and conduct quality assurance checks to ensure your team can make the design a reality.

Implementation

For some projects—Service Designs, specifically—in the final phase, we help implement the new design. We will work with your team to help get things off the ground and running before wrapping up the project.

Website Design & Development

We offer end-to-end web design; during this process, we work closely with your team to determine your web-based needs and then produce a user-friendly website that suits those needs and captures your visual brand identity.

Product Design

We offer design for mobile, web, and software applications in which we will create user interfaces that provide a superior experience to all your users and better capture your product’s potential. Projects can consist of accessibility and usability upgrades of existing products or designs entirely from scratch.

Accessibility Mapping

Though much of our work takes place in the digital realm, we strongly believe in the physicality of design outside the internet as an equally positive influence on users' experience. From redundant or unintuitive workflows to unmarked accessibility features in a building, we use Accessibility Mapping to combat spatial issues that hinder one's ability to experience their environment positively. At Constellar, we will work with you to build tools that help users understand their environment and allow them to inhabit the spaces they encounter confidently.
